Self Tanning Jelly is built around a violet base. Most self tanners run warm in their undertone, which is what tips a tan from bronze into orange. A purple base is designed to counter those tones, so the color that develops reads cooler and closer to real sun. The gel texture is the second difference. It absorbs faster than a lotion or cream and does not leave the sticky film that puts people off self tan altogether, so you can get dressed a few minutes after applying. Depth is up to you. Rinse after two hours for a medium bronze, leave it up to eight for something considerably deeper. The gel carries enough color to show your coverage as you work, which makes it easy to blend evenly around knees, elbows, wrists and ankles.
